Hi, I recommended a few titles and authors to you on booktards, looked at your profile, and would like to read your writings. I post a little sporaticly due to blocks and distraction; and when I post it's often moody, cryptic, or fragmented. I am trying to get better about these things, but I'm more of a supportive reader than a writer. Please add me anyway. :)

Greetings!!!! I saw your post from TheReadingRoom, and hope to help you in whatever manner I may!!!! One of the best introductions to the subject is undoubtedly existentialism and the Philosophical Tradition by DIANE BARSOUM RAYMOND. It includes all sorts of fictional counterparts to the philosophical explanations. Then there are, of course, the founding philosophical texts, Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Heidegger's Being and Time, and sartre's Being and Nothingness. all are explained in the aforementioned introduction.

As to philosophical books in general, Hmmm, there are so many to choose from!!! (Incidentally, Palahniuk is a genius!!!!)

Try samuel beckett's The Trilogy, consisting of Molloy, Malone dies, and the Unnamable. also, Murphy is excellent. the greatest book I know of, however, philosophical or otherwise--and it is most certainly philosophical--is louis-Ferdinand celine's Journey to the End of the Night--an analysis of the human condition that is basically a misanthropy of swiftean proportions, but it's just so funny you can't help but laugh!!!!
